Central Park Trails – Modderfontein

Central park is the product of a partnership between four mountain bikers who are passionate about trail building and maintenance. Located within the Modderfontein nature reserve on a 275 hectare private park, making it the second largest in Gauteng. This is a trail suitable for some endurance training; long flat sections of jeep track are followed by flowing single track to rest those legs before a few small climbs. The reserve caters for beginners and children who can comfortably complete an 18 km loop that travels around the reserve with the 32 km and 42 km venturing into the centre of the reserve, keeping you entertained with some single track and rocky sections.

Oi!! Keep an eye out for thorns and the fine river sand.

I have burnt all my energy, where can I eat?

A hot dog stand is on the premises at weekends and on public holidays, there is also ample space to have a picnic. Otherwise you will have to find somewhere on your way home.

You loved the trail, now go show them some love!
