Rietvlei Farm – Alberton

Rietvlei farm is lifestyle centre based in Alberton, with a tea garden, picnic area, car wash, cycle shop and mountain bike trail. An awesome family spot for weekends where the kids can play on the jungle gyms, however, there isn’t much trail riding for them. The trail has some exciting single track with rock gardens on the more difficult trails and some very tricky corners going into ascents. This is the perfect play ground to get those technical riding skills developed, even if you don’t make it over a technical section the first time, you’ll find yourself repeating it until you make it all the way across. Rietvlei is open 6 days a week for riders, try it out…It’s a challenge.

  1. Hi 🙂

So about my hiking situation. I see here that we were talking about two totally different ‘Rietvlei’ areas. I was talking about Rietvlei Dam Municipal Nature Reserve which is like to the east of Centurion! But… now that I’ve looked into it, they only have guided hiking trails (which we don’t want) AND they have mountain biking 😛
I’ll look into doing a hike here but the other one, the Thaba Trail, looks like it’s only for mountain biking. We have also looked at doing a hike at Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve which is close to this place (and not too far from home) so might try that one out 🙂

    Thanks for the info!

  2. Hi Mish.

Thanks for the response, we will definitely look into the trail at Rieltvlei in Pretoria. We are always looking for new places to explore.

    Happy hiking.
