Wellness Wednesdays: Benefits of moving, even a little!

Earlier this week we motivated you to get moving and noted that any movement is better than no movement at all – this is so true! Any physical activity is beneficial and by just incorporating small changes into your day to day routine you have a greater chance of benefiting from them.

Moderate amounts of physical activity can greatly improve healthy and quality of life. Just move more to experience any or all of the following:

  • Increased stamina
  • Increased energy
  • Increased cardiovascular health
  • Increased bone and joint health
  • Increased strength
  • Improved posture
  • Increased ability to perform activities of daily living
  • Increased digestion
  • Improved hormonal function
  • Increased flexibility
  • Prevention of injuries
  • Aid in the prevention of falls
  • Increase in lean body mass
  • Decrease in fat mass
  • Greater psychological well-being
